Aloha Surf Shop Box Members,

Zak underwater photoWe're psyched to have world renowned surf photographer Zak Noyle as our curator for the September Box.  Zak’s been creating underwater ocean imagery since he was a kid, and at the ripe old age of 32, he’s already had more honors and accolades than most dudes can earn in a lifetime.  Zak travels the globe shooting the best surfers in the most perfect waves imaginable, and is driven by the hunt for his next “favorite photo”.

We got a chance to ask Zak ten ‘not so serious’ questions and his answers are pretty epic… check ‘em out here:

10 QUESTIONS WITH ZAK NOYLE

Q: Favorite wave to surf?

A: Point Panics on Oahu's South Shore

Q: Favorite wave to shoot?

A: Off the wall on the north shore

Q: Favorite photo you've taken?

A: Ever changing and evolving. Favorite photo is the last image I visualized and made reality through photos

Q: Favorite surfer to shoot right now?

A: Definitely not Mark Healey. Hahahah nah. It depends on the wave. As different surfers have different styles that suit different waves.

Q: Favorite spot to grab some post surf/shoot grub?

A: Pioneer Saloon on Oahu's south shore

Q: Favorite boardshort?

A: RVCA 19inch cut semi stretch.  Technology is great but a basic simple pair of board shorts is all that's needed for a good time.

Q: What’s a brand/product you’ve discovered that you’re excited about right now?

A: SunBum.  They care for the environment with the ingredients in their products they also give back to the communities in big ways for the next generation.

Q: You’re ready to cash in all your frequent flyer miles.  Where are you going?

A: India. Would love to see it and the culture there.

Q: Saturday night.  Midnight. Where are you?

A: Somewhere weird.

Q: Anything you're working on these days that you want to plug?

A: I have created a brand called Hayn which is an all-natural rubber slipper. It has been so eye opening and such a learning curve but very fun. Really consuming a lot of my time these days. Also I have a new next generation photo contest I am launching very soon called rising Tide by Zak Noyle
